Explore the Tempisque River on a private boat safari to discover massive crocodiles, monkeys, and exotic birds in their natural habitat.
TOUR ITINERARY
-
Scenic Drive to the Tempisque River (1 – 1.5 Hours) Sit back and relax as we drive through the heart of Guanacaste’s sugar cane and cotton fields. This journey takes you into the dry forest ecosystem, home to one of the most important biological stations in Central America.
-
River Boat Safari (2 Hours) The highlight of the day! Board a comfortable, shaded motorboat for a safari along the Tempisque River. We will navigate the borders of the Palo Verde National Park, where you’ll get incredibly close to massive American Crocodiles, white-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, and huge iguanas.
-
Birdwatcher’s Paradise Keep your camera ready! Palo Verde is one of the best spots in Costa Rica for birdwatching. Your guide will help you spot jaribus, herons, egrets, and many other migratory birds in their natural habitat.
-
Traditional Pottery Demonstration On our way back, we’ll visit the famous artisan village of Guaitil. You’ll witness a live demonstration of ancestral Chorotega-style pottery, a tradition passed down through generations using natural clay and earth pigments.
-
Authentic «Leña» Lunch Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch cooked over a wood-fire stove. This «flavor of the countryside» includes handmade tortillas, rice, beans, and your choice of protein—the most authentic meal you’ll have in Costa Rica.
-
